I
got a Pocket full of Nothing
This week started
like any other week filled with school on school. Although it would be a short
week due to the holidays it would be a great week. My hiking shoes came in the
mail just in time for my weekend of hiking the great Alps. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday came and went. But Thursday night was spent on the town with the
girls. Going to a Jazz concert and talking over a candle lit dinner of sweet potato
fries. How typical of me right? On
Friday Shannon, Brynn, and I flew out for out wilderness wanderlust adventure
in Switzerland. Switzerland more like a BOUJEELAND. Everything was super
expensive, for example train station Chinese food appetizers of four spring
rolls cost 20 franks which changes to 20 dollars. We were in over our heads for
the expenses to come. Although we were going hiking which is usually a cheap
and fun activity for all. For us it was just another hit to the wallet, bank
account and savings. Nothing in this world is ever free, but one day it might.
But Good Golly Miss MOLLY!! It cost 80 euro for a day trip with in Zurich. Then we found out that the ticket we bought
didn’t even cover the whole mountain. We ended up just eating lunch meats and
cheese for every meal. Then we spent the next day buying less expensive tickets
because we learned our lesson. We walked in snow up to our knees, and hiked till
our feet fell off. I wouldn’t trade my 2018 Easter break for anything in the
world. It was nice to recenter our life before the finals and all the goodbyes
to come the following weeks. As my lovely mother reminded me that it was April
and my European adventures coming to an end. Did I mention all the cows!! There
were so many, and it was beautiful. I Have learned that I love cows so much but
this fascination just recently started. MOO-VVEEE over my herd and I are coming
through. We are Udderly adorable so don’t flake on us. Alright I am done now,
Im all out of puns and my pockets are longer filled with money….Because I am
broke.
XOXO,
GOING GERMAN
