Race
to The Flashing Lights of Enmodes
Coming into the
new week after a week as great as the last is one is hard. Especially because this
was enmodes week. Working 9 to 5 (cue Dolly Parton) constantly on one project
can do something to a woman. Luckily had
an amazing team and we were going to shell shock the other teams and company.
How was the dynamic of my team you ask? Well team Raphael consisted of struggling
with solid works, 36 sections of Design History Files, attitude, coffee addictions, repetition, and not giving up until it
was perfection. Although there were moments in the project where I had no clue
if it was going to come together. By the time Friday came around we were like
one mega machine. May I mention that we
made a new record of being able to go home at 11 pm before presentation day. In
past years the teams haven’t been able to leave until 4 in the morning. After
our victorious and stellar presentation, we all popped the bubbly, went out for
a joyous lunch and partied into the night. This is where things get crazy, IBK
went to a club with us. I repeat a CLUB!! Ibk was killing it on the dance floor
and we danced till we couldn’t feel our feet. Another night turned into morning
just in time for Big Event. Big Event is probably my favorite aggie tradition
because we give back to people who put up with our angsty college selves for 9
months out of the year. But being able to continue this tradition in BONN made
me such a happy duckling. Darby, Ibk, and I worked in a garden all day and got
some sick tan lines. We had a barbeque to end of the day. Then it was time to carbo
load because Sunday was Race day. Before leaving America I told all my friends
I was running a half marathon and they just laughed at me. Guess what the jokes
on them because I did it (well kinda). I might have not been the first to
finish but in my defense I had to stop and pick some flowers. Lexie wasn’t too
happy about that because it was a half marathon relay. But at the end of the
day, I was glad that I took a little longer but got to smell the roses. We ended
the day off with waffles, gelato, and beer! It was a great week but needless to
say it was at this moment I realized I only had two weeks left and I was
clinging on to every last second.

XOXO,
Going “I am never
leaving” GERMAN
