Week 15
This was finals week and it went well. I believe I performed well on all of my finals, or well enough for the grades I need. Camella helped me stay much more calm during the time that I usually do around finals because we both reasoned through how much we realistically needed to work and when we could afford the time to have some fun. During the week we had two physiology tests, one take-home test for systems and signals, and one test on FDA regulations. Also, we finalized and submitted our DHF. To prepare for all of them, Camella and I went to Cream Coffee twice to get our study on. (Camella is watching me right this and says "I do not like it" to that phrase.) As far as I know my tests went well, but I'll find out for sure when grades come out.
On Thursday afternoon we baked almond donut fried balls. They were fun and good and I felt like I had a more immersive German experience than I had in the past as I was forced to struggle and communicate to Camella and Katarina in German. I loved it. In the evening we went to Rhinelust with Alexa and Romi to celebrate the completion of our classes and the journeys imminent end. I had a banana beer that tasted way way better than it sounds.
On Friday we visited Remagen. We got off the train one stop early and walked along the Rhine; it was gorgeous. Upon arrival, we went on a tour at the Peace Museum housed inside the Bridge at Remagen. We got to hear all about the story from WWII. I now want to see the movie because I have seen the physical location where this historical event took place. After a great lunch and some gelato that I successfully managed to get all over my face, we returned to Bonn.
That night, we went to the AIB Farewell party. I got to see some amazing exhibitions from the TAMU Visualization students and the LMU and PSU kids too. I was thoroughly impressed. Towards the end of the party, we were dancing and singing with the band. I went out for drinks and to a club that night. I'll talk about the rest of the weekend and my last couple days in Bonn in the last post I make before I leave (hopefully on the plane traveling back tomorrow if I find time).
For now, tschüss Bonn. Bis späder in a couple years I hope.
