The final week: Week 16
We
started the week with a biking trip along the Rhine. The views were amazing,
but the trip wasn't exactly peaceful. We were all very stressed about having
our third physiology exam the next day, and then the start of finals the day
after that - making it a little hard to enjoy the ride. We also got to see a
neat museum that used to be the only bridge crossing the Rhine in wartimes.
Afterward, we had a delicious Italian lunch with gelato to top it all off
(Danke Prof. Dr. Wasser!). The rest of the week was packed full with studying
and exams, and two sleepovers at the AIB!! Somewhere in there way the first of
May, or May Day, a neat German holiday where the young boys decorate a maple
tree to put in their girlfriend's yard. It was a cute little thing to see that
reminded me of silly traditions at home, like homecoming mums. At the end of
the week when finals were finally over, we got to relax with a Rhine cruise and
farewell party. It's bittersweet going home, but I am ready for this next
chapter of my life!
