This week we started off our academics with an excursion to Bingen. We went to a Unesco World Heritage area, the Middle Rhine Valley. In the middle of the river there was an island with a backstory involving rodents that Dr. Wasser told us about. In the Middle Rhine Valley we visited the Museum am Strom in Bingen, which was about Hildegard von Bingen. Most well known people in the past are male, but Hildegard von Bingen is female. She is a saint who can be considered the founder of scientific natural history in Germany.
This week I spent most of it studying and working on enmodes. I worked a small bit on the design history file (DHF) even though it was more of an engineering geared portion of enmodes. My pharmacology project is due soon and I worked on my powerpoint and tried to add a pokemon theme to it. I was not able to time myself when I finished it. I was talking to my host family about doing a presentation, and I mentioned that I was scared of interviews (because of a traumatizing experience I had years ago) despite the fact that more people fear public speaking than death. My roommate attempted to make me feel better by telling me the only one time he was scared, and it involved someone dying at his workplace on his watch.
Additionally, I spent time working on an application for a position back in College Station and hopefully this works out well in my favor. Its making me nervous.
