This week was an incredible
experience. As a big group, we got to go to France and visit 2 cities along the
way to Paris. First we visited Colmar, which was a nice, little town that we
spent a few hours in to grab a bite. Next we went to Beaune, where we spent the
night. The following day we went to Hotel Dieu where we got to see a 15-century
hospital that has been converted to a retirement home for the elderly. It was
an incredible sight and experience to see all of the old medical tools that
would help cure the ill.
We then travelled to Paris which
was a fun and informative experience. The first night we had delicious crepes
and went to bed pretty early. The following days consisted of a bike tour,
going up the Eiffel tower, the Louvre, and visiting the palace of Versailles.
It was so unreal to actually see the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci up close
and learn about all the small little hidden messages in the paintings. A few of
us, me included, may have also made art history by discovering hidden people in
one of the big paintings of Napolean which was really cool to imagine. By the
end of the trip, we were all sad to leave, and I am glad that our guide (Julien)
was there to teach us about the city.
