It's 5'oclock in the morning! I don't even know what's
happening. All I know is..we need to catch a bus that..takes me to the airport.
Bc I need to get to DUBLIN! Or should I say Dub{Lim}. HAHA. HAHAHA. Our flight
departed at 9:40, so we needed to get there around 7:30ish, and the bus that
took us there left at 6 from Paris. A couple of hours later, we landed in
Dublin; when we exited the terminal, the first thing that we saw was a man
holding a sigh saying "Kendrick Lim." We all just started jumping and
cheering because of how amazing that was. He was here to take us from the
airport to our hostel. We couldn't have asked for a better greeting into
Dublin, and it was the best way to start our spring break! The drive from
the airport to the hostel actually didn’t take that long! I had the biggest
smile glued to my face as we drove through Dublin; all I could think was “This
is it. We made it to spring break!” After checking into the hostel, we made our
way around the city of Dublin. We stopped by St. Patrick’s Cathedral and St.
Patrick’s Park; while a couple of our friends went into the cathedral, the rest
of us relaxed at the park nearby! It was such a pretty place to spend time at!
Shortly after, we stopped by the famous Leo Burdock’s that sold fish and chips!
Several famous celebrities including Tom Cruise, U2, The Cast of P.S. I Love
You, Snoop Dogg, and many others had been to this very fast food store! Afterwards,
we went stopped by the Dublin Castle and made our way back to the hostel. Some
of our friends went on to see the Guiness Storehouse; the rest of us made our
way to Murphy’s, one of the extremely popular ice cream stores. We also stopped
by St. Stephen’s Green, which was an extremely large and pretty park in the
center of Dublin! I wouldn’t have minded calling it Dub{Lim} and staying there
forever! Before we made our way to dinner, we also stopped at the Iveagh
Gardens to see a waterfall that seemed very pretty in photos; however, the waterfall
wasn’t running for some reason! For dinner, we went to the Brazen Head, which
was Dublin’s oldest pub, dating back to 1198! It was a very Irish pub and a
very fun one to be at. We went to bed around midnight because we needed to get
up around 4:30 the next day. It turns out that our room was positioned right
next to a club, so at random points in the night, I would wake up to the sound
of a music blaring in our room! That Sunday, we made our way over to the
meeting point for our day trip over to the Cliffs of Moher. I think most of us
slept on the way there, but when we finally got there, we were all astonished
by what we saw. It was extremely windy, but the view could not be missed. The
Cliffs of Moher were something else; I couldn’t have asked for Moher from the
western coast of Ireland! We stopped in the little village of Doolin for lunch
where we ordered clam chowder that the bus driver had recommended to us. The
next stop that we arrived at was just as beautiful if not more than the Cliffs
of Moher! It was called the Burren, and it was less crowded than the Cliffs of
Moher but just as astonishing! Afterwards, we stopped by the 12th
Century Corcomroe Abbey. Last stop: Kinvarra! This was another small Irish town
that full of color and contained the historic Dunguaire Castle. After this last
stop, we made our way back to the city of Dublin. We had dinner at a
Mediterranean where we all got gyro. Finally, before calling it a night, we
stopped by the Temple Bar and Whelan’s, where scenes from the movie P.S. I Love
You were filmed! We tried to sleep by 11 again because we needed to get to the
airport around 4 in the morning, which meant that getting enough sleep was tough
to do, but all in all, I would say that Dublin was a great place to spend a
part of our spring break at. Dubs on Dubs on Dubs!!
