This weekend we went to Munich.
First of all, I made the mistake to not wear my snow boots for the first time.
Munich luckily was not snow covered, however, the places we visited were. On
Saturday we traveled by train to go see Neunshwanstein and Hohenshwangau.
These are both palaces and very beautiful buildings. We first saw Hohenshawangau
which is a big yellow building (made first) and had been built by a man of
lesser royalty and it was pretty modern in its appearance. The son then began
to build his own palace where he could see it from his room in the previous
palace. He would watch it being built day by day. Finally when it finished, he
moved in, although there was sparse furniture. Three months later he passed
away from some disease. The building was then given to an organization, and
later kept as it was as a museum only to be visited because of its beauty.
Nowadays it is visited because of the fact that Walt Disney based several
Disney characters castles on it. That night we ate at Gaffel’s where they had
the massive one liter glasses, and went back home to have an early night. The
next day we experienced Munich and strolled around the city to see the main
square, clock tower, and climb another tower to get a nice view of the town. It
was a nice and fun trip to spend during the weekend.
