I don't know if the ?!?!?! captured the disbelief and sadness we're all feeling knowing we'll be going home soon, but if not, now you know.
Week 15 definitely saw the hardest week school-wise we've had yet. With a test Tuesday and finals Wednesday and Thursday, sleep was itself a dream. (Quick flashback to when we found that 59c coffee at Rewe - that stuff truly is a lifesaver.) Anyways, even though late nights and early mornings were undoubtedly the themes of this week, it sure feels great to be done a week before everyone else in College Station. Friday was spent mostly in Remagen, seeing a museum about the Peace Bridge at Remagen. This was the bridge General Eisenhower and his troops crossed on their way from Normandy to Berlin, the same bridge that Eisenhower said was "worth its weight in gold". We spent the rest of the day back in Bonn picking up some souvenirs because, alas, it's about time for the dreaded return packing.
On Saturday, we witnessed the final production efforts of the theater students who practiced throughout the semester in the room right next to ours and then took a short break before going to the Farewell Barbecue. This was held at the Old AIB building, where there is space to eat outside (and again the weather held for us). Dinner was fantastic, with lots of side dishes to choose from, as well as sausage, chicken, and steak that was grilled right there for us. Sunday was rather a beautiful and quiet day. I started packing and counted down the hours until dinner, because Kanci and her host parents had invited Rachel and I over. I had some of the best homemade Chinese food of my life, and we spent 5 hours eating and talking and enjoying their taste in music. What a great way to end the weekend!
Now, it's off to packing and looking forward to the wine tasting and Rhine cruise planned for Tuesday! Thanks for reading!
