Week 2: January 18-24
We went to the Post-War German History Museum in Bonn today as group. It was interesting to hear more about the history of Germany before and after the war. The museum also informed visitors about recent events in the history of Germany. We also had our first German language class this week.
On Friday, we went to Aachen to meet Enmodes and get our project assignment that we would be doing this semester. The project seemed to be really interesting and the engineers were very nice.
I went with a group of people this weekend to Maastricht, Netherlands. It was an adorable town that is close to the border of Germany. While in Maastricht, we toured a fort and the limestone caves in the town. The caves were interesting because of all of the drawings and the history behind them. We walked into the dark for about 20 steps and it was disorienting. It is difficult to know exactly where you are walking because there is no light to help guide you in the correct direction. I would love to visit the town again in the future.
