Week 1 of heck week/other great things too

So begins hell week. After arriving back to Bonn from Paris/Barcelona, the two hell weeks of finals/Enmodes presentations began. The first week contained our signals and systems test, as well as our Enmodes Presentation. The second week had 2 physiology tests, one of which was a final, and then we had our signals final as well as our medical device design. However there were several good spurts during those two weeks, otherwise it was rather difficult..

We took our signals tests, no biggie. But Thursday night we stayed very late until we finished our Enmodes presentation. We stayed till about 10 pm, and tensions were pretty high. However we rocked our preparations, and the next day went to Enmodes to rock it again. Before our presentation, the engineers we worked for showed us their labs. They focused on cardiovascular engineering, and had all really cool designs, like an artificial heart, heart valves, etc. These things were really interesting and got me to really want to do engineering over medical school as my career, however I am still so unsure. After the lab tours, we killed our presentation, and then went back to Bonn to go out again to celebrate the completion of our first week.

Saturday was a study day, I spent all day studying physiology, and then Reagan and Elaine came over to study with Shawn and I. So we studied for a while and then went to a fancy pizza restaurant to have dinner. They stayed the night and then went home the next day.

The next day, our host mom and sister took Shawn and I to a beautiful little German wine town called Ahrweiler. We walked around the town for a while on a beautiful day and just enjoyed all the cute little homes. Then we went to an amazing wine restaurant and had these flatbreads called Flammkuchen, and a great glass of red wine. We walked around the vineyards, Shawn and I, and then came back and ate a delicious lunch. We enjoyed some of the last meals together with them, and drove back home to continue studying for our finals.

The second week of well began Monday, which will be described more in my next blog.
