Week 14: April 11-17
On Monday, April 11, we drove to Colmar and Beaune, France. In Colmar, we had a city tour and got to see the Isenheim Altar. The town of Colmar was very pretty and picturesque. I wish that we would’ve had some more time to spend there. After the city tour, we drove to Beaune and had dinner. The following day, we had a guided tour of Hotel Dieu, a historical hospital. Hotel Dieu was so beautiful and the tiled roof, along with the apothecary was amazing.
In Paris, we had a bike tour of the central area of Paris. It was worrisome at first because I had not ridden a bike in several years but it went wonderfully. The tour of the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and Montmarte were fantastic. The Eiffel Tower was gorgeous at sunset with dark siloutte of the structure in front of a colorful sky.
I ended up staying the weekend in Paris. I went back to visit the Louvre with a couple of friends and we walked down see the Arc de Triomphe. The following day, I went to go visit the Luxembourg gardens. Sadly, the castle could not be toured because it was undergoing repairs. After the Luxembourg gardens, I walked to Notre Dame to take some pictures and then went back to the hotel.
