The last two weeks of our study abroad experience were filled with
stress, joy, and sadness. The
sources of stress were pretty obvious: the enmodes presentation and final
exams. The entire first week was
spent preparing for our group enmodes presentation. We finalized all the material we wanted to include in our
presentation and then just practiced saying it. So it really was not all that stressful, for me at
least. However, the week of final
exams was pretty stressful. We had
our major writing assignment due on Monday, followed by our third physiology
exam on Tuesday, followed by our physiology lab exam on Wednesday, followed by
our physiology final exam and biochemistry final on Thursday. So yeah…five exams in four days. That
was real fun. On a brighter note,
Remagen was pretty cool. I am
always interested in learning about history from WWII, so I enjoyed it. Plus, doing anything besides studying
would have been really fun. After
Remagen tour was finished, I went back to Bonn and chilled with the host fam
for a little bit before going to the farewell party. The party was really cool featuring live music from a couple
student workers I knew. It was
also nice to just relax and meet other students’ host families. After the party, a group of us went to
grab some kiosk drinks and headed to the Untergrund. The next few days were spent exploring Bonn for the last
times and going out with friends at night.
It sucked to say our goodbyes, but the majority of us will be in College
Station over the summer so we will be seeing each other soon. I had a great
time in Europe and would definitely encourage other students to study
abroad. Just getting to experience
the European culture for a few months was such a positive life-altering event
that I will cherish fur immer
