Wien Part 2

On Thursday night we went to the world renown Wien Symphoniker. That night we all got dressed up to hear: "Le Baiser de la Fee" by Strawinsky, Henri Tomasi and "Pathetique" by Tschaikowskij. This was by far my favorite part of Wien. It was so beautiful, the building, music, everything. My favorite was Pathetique. Tschaikowiskij i feel utilized every instrument in the orchestra and made it sound so harmonious. You could really feel the story that the music was portraying. At our farewell dinner, aka farewell food fest. Everybody ate SO MUCH. including myself. I had the Zweibelrostbraeten. Which was beyond tasty, and for dessert had a lot of numerous things that i can't even explain tasted. Also that day we went to the Albertinum and saw Impressionistic art by Monet, Picasso, and Magritte (who by the way was the best in my eyes).

On Sunday, our last day, we went to the Sigmund Freud house at 19 Berg Gasse. We had a great lecture by Dr. Wasser and also had a great tour. It was pretty neat being in the same place as many great psychoanalysts like Freud, and also being in the same place as many of his patients. It was definitely a great cultural experience. After the Freud house we went to the Natural History Museum. There we saw the famous, yet small, Venus von Willemdorf.

Overall, Wien was nothing short of a great cultural experience. It is a city where many composers and great intellects among normal people live. And i can see why. The streets are surrounded by wonderful architecture, great food, and great people(who are pretty haha). If I had the chance I would move there in a heartbeat. After i learn the language of course. ha. Every aspect of the trip was great, and i really do want to go back!
