Average Week

This last week has been pretty ordinary. I did not go anywhere exotic or really do anything special. However, on Wednesday, I did join some other students as they searched for costumes for Karneval. We went to a department store in Bonn to search for hats for a costume, and there were a lot of hats to be found. There were cowboy hats, “Aussie” hats, pirate hats, sombreros, tiny joke hats, top hats, hats with big feathers in them, and even American Civil War Union and Confederate hats.
We went to a local multi-floor toy store as well, which was very nostalgic. They had Lego sets, Nerf guns, board games of all types, 2D and 3D puzzles, costumes, hand puppets, and wooden swords. They were even selling a flashlight that looked like a giant, Lego Darth Vader; the light was projected out of one of his feet.
Yesterday, I walked from Bad-Godesberg to Bonn as part of my plan to get into shape, which took me through a fairly large park on the Rhein. The park has a significantly large lake, which is currently completely frozen, and a portion of the park and lake run underneath a sizable bridge traversing the Rhein. All of this can be seen in the included picture. Although there are none in the picture, there were plenty of people ice skating on the frozen lake, and, despite the cold, there were plenty of other people like me walking, running, or biking around.
