Wien Part 1

On Wednesday morning, (early morning) We embarked on our journey to the awesome city of Wien. Of course, nothing is boring in Candy Land, and she forgot her passport, but no worries, she and Kristin and Dr. Wasser still were able to catch the flight! We arrived and went straight to the hotel Deutschmeister. Which had the BEST breakfast of all time in my opinion, and the rooms were super nice as well. We started off our day with a tour of the city. By now I was realizing why Wien is SUCH a great city. The architecture is amazing as well as the people. I felt like every single person was dressed for the races, and every girl was a literal super model. But i mean...it was kein problem. One of the highlights of this walk was the Jesuit church that we stumbled upon. The inside was all what seemed to be marble, and it was quite a sight mainly because every detail was so intricate.

After our tour i was able to snag a famous Melange. A melange is a simple coffee with steamed milk, but man being simple goes a long way. Wien is famous for their "kaffeehaus couture". I can see why after having a great melange. We ended our tour with a tour of St. Stephen's Dom. It is an original Romanesque church with a Gothic finishing. The inside of the church was beautiful, and there were so many candles lit for prayer. It was unbelievable. After seeing the church, we went to the catacombs. In the catacombs were the burial sites of past bishops and the royal family of Josef and Catharine. Also there are is the old part of the catacombs which holds many skeletons of formal viennese commoners that wanted to be buried in a holy place.

That night we ate at great Viennese style restaurant, The Goulash museum. AND IT WAS AMAZING. to say the least, and afterwards the guys and I went out for a bit to really feel "viennese" ha.

On thursday, it was jammed packed of activities. We went to the Vienna medical school and had a lecture on education by Dr. Maerz, which was very informative, because I was able to see the difference in Austrian and American dental schooling. Then we went to the Narrentum (fools tower) which is the Pathologic-Anatomical Museum. The narrentum first served as a mental institution in Vienna. After i had my first Schnitzel. Which was awesome, Then we went to the Josephinum which houses the famous collection of anatomical and obstetric wax models.
