Week 7- Koblenz

This week leading up to Paris has been crazy to say the least. Im still trying to recover from Rosenmontag lol. But anyways, after yet another challenging week, some friends and I decided to plan a trip for the weekend to take our mind off of things. Originally, we were going to go to Luxembourg, however due to lack of interest, the plans changed to a day trip to Koblenz! I went with Rachel and Claire and let me tell you.... I had SUCH a great time. Koblenz is a beautiful city with so much to do.

First, we walked from the hbf to Deutsche's Ecke. Deutsche's Ecke, or German Corner, is located where the Mosul River meets the Rhine. Its a beautiful area and right at the corner is a massive statue, which im ashamed to say that i dont remember who it is of. Anyways, after seeing the statue, we took the funicular up to the famous fortress there! That funicular was so cool because it went right over the rhine and they view from up there was amazing. Once we got to the top, we explored the fortress which was really spectacular.

After leaving the fortress, we decided to go to a massive playground which is in the same vicinity. Next, my favorite part of the day, was when we just plopped down on a bench outside to enjoy the nice weather. To enhance the time even more, I played country music from my phone and closed my eyes. It was almost like being in Texas again! Also, shoutout to claire for being one of like 3 people in this program who actually likes country music (:

Next we went back down the funicular and into the main city. There, we had gelato and sat out by the main fountain. It was so refreshing to not have to worry about school! Lastly, we returned to our train and got back into Bonn at a fairly decent hour because I still had to pack and get ready for PARIS next week!!! Stay tuned folks
