This week was a lot of fun. We started off with a day trip to Bingen and Andernach. We take a bus and arrive in Bingen. It is a beautiful little German city with beautiful river and hills. This is a history of medicine excursion and so we visit the Hildegard museum while we are there. Dr. Wasser sang for us and was actually pretty good. There was also this cute little garden and we all were tasked with finding a specific plant. Maggie and I had to a find a big bush. We then had a little bit of time and so we spent it lying in the grass and taking a pull out day picture. We walked to lunch and had basically no food with quite a bit of wine. I've never slept better than on the bus going to Andernach.
In Andernach, we went to this cute little museum run by an old man. It was in his house and had medical things stuffed in every corner. We actually had to split into two groups because we wouldn't all fit in the rooms together. One group went to the museum while the other got gelato. It made it a great day.
Also this week, we went to the arithmuem with Madeleine. We had to go to get extra credit but it was so worth it because they had so much cool stuff and all of us nerds really enjoyed it. We got to see original adding machines and how the calculator evolved from those to what it is today. It was a surprisingly cool experience and at the end Madeleine bought us gelato again which is always nice.
