Week 12: Berlin

This weekend we went to Berlin and it was possibly one of my favorite trips! I went with a group of people I hadn't traveled very much with the rest of the semester so it was fun to get to spend more time with them. We flew to Berlin on Friday night and went straight to our hostel. The next morning we woke up early and started to explore the city. We went to see the Brandenburg gate and the Reich-stag. We also walked through the Tiergarten and went to see the memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe. Berlin is famous for their curry wurst so we ate some for lunch. Afterwards we went to see check point Charlie which was honestly a bit of a let down. That night we went to a bar completely decorated with Tarantino movie decorations and then a club.

The next day we slept in and then went to see museum island. On our way we had a delicious meal at a Thai restaurant. The weather was so nice so we sat outside along the canal while we ate. Then we walked over to museum island and saw the Pergamon museum and the Egyptian museum. The museums were very nice. Afterwards we walked through a local flea market near the museums. Then we headed to go see the east side gallery wall with murals painted on it before getting on our flight back home. Overall it was a great weekend!
