The Beginning of a New Adventure

(This post is for the week of March 5)

On Friday, I woke up at around 6:30 to pack for our Spring Break trip to Italy. I had to do this because our flight required us to leave from the AIB building at around 10:30, which is about half an hour after our morning class. The first stop on our Italian adventure was Rome, which we stayed in until Tuesday morning. On Saturday, we took a guided tour of the Vatican, which I recommend partly because you can skip the incredibly long lines that way. Anyway, we saw as much of the Vatican as we could in about 3-5 hours; I forgot exactly how long we spent there. We saw the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and as much of the Vatican Museum as we could. Being more than-I hear-2000 rooms large, we were physically unable to see the entirety of the Vatican Museum on our tour.
On Sunday, we paid for a guided tour of the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. However, after we entered the Forum, we split off from the rest of the group to explore on our own. Somewhere near the ruins of what I believe to be the palace of Augustus we ran across another Aggie, but we did not get around to asking what her name was. We spent the next several hours almost aimlessly wandering the Roman Forum and taking pictures of ruins, and honestly, I enjoyed seeing the Forum much more than the Coliseum.
