the Weekend

On Friday this week we went on a 13 mile bike ride down the Rheine to the town of Remagen. There we ate at a delicious Italian restaurant. I had a spaghetti with a creamy tomato crab sauce. We then went to a museum which was built into one of the towers of a bridge that used to cross the river. The bridge was blown up by the Germans in WWII to keep the Americans from crossing it. Our guide, the owner of the museum and former mayor of Remagen was a very bubbly, happy-go-lucky guy who was very enthused about his museum. The theme of the museum was peace and not war. One cool exhibit in the museum was interactive and when you pushed a button, two identical men shook hands and the dove of peace flew out of the head of one of the men. We then rode the train back to Bonn.

Friday night Kyle, Justin and I went to see a DJ show. The headliner was Monika Kruse, a famous female DJ who has been around in the business for a long time. Her music and mixes were really good, and it was a lot of fun to dance to.

The rest of this weekend I've been studying for my biochem final on Tuesday. I'm so excited for the class to end and the lessened course load. That's all for now!
