Chilifest 2012: Germany edition

So, on Saturday, the majority of the class was able to make it to my house for some awesome chili! Katie made some Texas chili, etouffee, and dirty rice to go along with my sweet potato chili. It was all delicious, and it took some major self-control over the three hours that the pots sat simmering to not eat everything before other people arrived! As people started arriving, we decided to go out to the woods behind my house and play hide-and-seek....which was harder than we thought considering one of us was wearing green...
When the rest of the group showed up, we moved to the "winter garden" and had some good, homemade chili! A long evening of talking, laughing, and games ensued. I would bet that the etouffee was the overall favorite, though, thanks to the surprising find of Louisiana crawfish in the Netto down the street.  We rounded out the night with some ice cream, and headed our separate ways! It was a great way to spend a Saturday!
