Deutsche Bahn Adventures

It was time to return to reality and head back to Bonn after a great time in both Prague and Vienna. Kevin and I were traveling back together by train. It was going to be long but easy journey with only one train transfer before we reached Cologne. Or so we thought... This is what actually happened. We got on our first train and settled in, thinking it would take us all the way to Munich. However, before we even left the Czech Republic, the train stopped and we were told to get off. All the passengers were confused and imagine Kevin and me who did not speak Czech. Eventually  some kind fellow passengers explained to us that  the company had not sent a train that could take us all the way to Munich. To arrive in Munich we had to take another train, then a bus, and then the another train to Munich. This concerned me because we had a train to catch from Munich to Cologne but what could we do. Shout out to Kevin for being calm and keeping me calm during all this! Your the best So we proceeded to follow the rest of the passengers and ran from train to bus and bus to train until we finally reached Munich AFTER our train for Cologne had left. At this point it was 12:40 am. The station was relatively empty but luckily there was still an individual at the information desk who switched our tickets for the next train to Cologne which left at around 2 am. When we finally reached Bonn later that morning, I was exhausted ,but we were surprisingly only fifteen minutes late to German class after that entire adventure.
The week was filled with lectures, enmodes labs, learning about the Venus figurines we saw in the Museum of Natural History in Vienna, and Tai Chi.
I also began training this past week for the Bonn Marathon Relay. I went running on the Rhine which is absolutely gorgeous and very close to the AIB. I highly recommend it!
