This Friday we went to Köln for Matt’s birthday. I found out
about a party put on “by the youth, for the youth” on Friday during carnival in
Cologne which I am going to go to. On Saturday I went to a friend’s host home
to Skype a group of our friends back home. It was great to get to talk to see
them all again, but the lag was so bad that it made it difficult to have a
conversation. This morning my host family went to a sports center to play
badminton and soccer. It was nice to get to do something a little athletic for
once, since I’ve mostly just been eating tons of bread and riding the tram
everywhere. The personal side of this week was pretty uneventful but it was
very relaxing, which was a nice change.
