I (heart) Wiener

Our week in Vienna went rather smoothly. During our free time, we went to the Prater Amusement Park and go-karted, rode a "Texas Tornado" type ride and saw the Wiener Riesenrad, the ferris wheel.
There, we bought a pressed coin souvenir seen on the above. Fancy, right?!

On the second day, we were given the most free time so David and I went to the Crime Museum. Unfortunately it was closed, so we walked around the area and saw this massive silo type building, which, after asking the locals, we found out was a flak tower, which was an ammunition storage building during WWII.
There are a total of 4 of them, one which is seen above, another that can be seen from a distance, another down the street that can't be seen, and a fourth one that's the only one still being used. The one being used was converted to an aquarium which was, coincidentally, where we were headed next. At the aquarium, the koi fish could be petted! There were also monkeys and birds! After observing the twelve floors of animals, we enjoyed the skyline as the sun was setting from the top floor.

During our week in Vienna, most enjoyed the wax models at the Narrenturm and the Josephinum. The veined wax model was rather intriguing, but it was a shame that we couldn't take pictures. The Narrenturm was super interesting with their realistic diseased patients and especially their revolving toilet. An arm would extend and wipe the toilet seat down while drying it! It was THE BEE's KNEES! Also, I really enjoyed seeing an example of the trans-tibial Otto Bock prosthetic. Ideas began flowing when I got to see the actual model that was currently being used. Furthermore, I enjoyed the Natural History Museum where I saw my most favorite animals including the emu, sloth, tortoise and whale. I'm especially pumped for the surgery viewing on monday and the anesthesia museum. Until then, Tschuss!
