Week 6 in Bonn

In addition to classes this week, Karneval celebrations have been going on and we got to participate in a parade in Beuel. It was very fun to pass out candy to the kids and adults that lined the streets and take part in this tradition that many Germans hold close to their heart. On Friday, some friends and I traveled to Berlin for the weekend. We visited the Berlin wall memorial, East Side Gallery, the Parliament building, as well as many other exciting sites in Germany's capital. It was interesting and exciting to explore a city with so much history. We also ate some really amazing food in Berlin. We had BBQ for the first time since leaving the US which was delicious, as well as some really good brunches. On Monday, we traveled back to Cologne for Rose Monday which was crazy to say the least. We watched the parade, spent time with friends, and enjoyed the festivities. I'm really glad I got to experience such a unique tradition while in Europe.
