This Friday we ventured back to Cologne to explore more of the city. We started off at a chocolate museum. The museum walked you through the whole process and history of making chocolate. While this was somewhat interesting, the best part was getting to eat all the chocolate at the end. They also had a huge chocolate store where we all bought as many flavors of Lindt truffles as we could. We also all tried chocolate beer, which I can say was definitely not my favorite.
Afterwards, one of our friends had mapped out the six big breweries in Cologne so we walked to each one and tried the different beers they had. At the third we all got dinner. Because there were eight of us out waiter didn't want to have to split the bill so we all paid in coins in retaliation. When we got to the last brew house there was a German concert going on. The restaurant was packed with old, drunk Germans. It was a pretty fun time to say the least.
The next day we all took a train to Leverkusen to go to a soccer game. I've never been a huge sports fan, but the Germans get really into soccer which made it pretty fun. That and all of the hot wine. Our team won 3-0 which made the game even more exciting.
