Week 3
So week 3 was the bomb and thankfully for my amazing BMEN compadres the 211 test mentioned in the previous blog post was not as rough as expected. This week we went to Vienna. It was quite awesome, we stayed at this cute little Austrian hotel and were able to go to several wonderful restaurants, went to a concert and several very interesting museums. During some free time some other students and I went to Schönbrunn Palace and went to the zoo they have there and also went back the next day to go on an audio tour of the actual palace. The zoo was a great experience because the animals were so active compared to animals back home in Texas. There were also a wider variety of animals since the climate here can allow for some more "winter type" animals. The palace the next day was amazing as well. The outside was beyond impressive. The gardens were massive and sprawling and covered in snow. It was amazing to be able to walk through such beautiful untouched landscaping. On the inside of the palace we went on an audio tour that went through 40 rooms and had a detailed description about almost all of them. There were plenty of interesting facts including a room that a 6 year old Mozart had held a concert in. The palace was filled with so much history and beautiful architecture. I also stayed in Vienna over the weekend to meet some friends here to show them around Vienna. So far the trip keeps getting better and better.
