This weekend was one for the books. Surgeries were awesome
on Friday. There were a lot of different surgeries going on. A couple got to
see stuff dealing with the heart or spine and then there was some less serious.
Nicole and I got lucky and got to see alot. Without going onto too much detail,
he was an older guy with cancer in the throat and they were removing his
larynx, took out a lymph node and put in a shunt. We could pretty much see the
whole inside of his throat region. Two of us fainted during surgery, which I was
not too happy about. Not sure what makes that happen because it doesn’t bother
me at all seeing the surgery. It was from a lack of sleep and no breakfast that
morning. After that we were headed to Amsterdam via trains. We went on a boat
tour, Heineken Experience tour and a walk trough of King Tut stuff. I didn’t realize
that the city was so close to water and was filled with canals. It was pretty
cool. The coolest thing by far was the Heineken experience. It was very
interactive and fascinating. King Tut
was alright. The night life there is crazy. I don’t know how people live there.
I can’t even begin to explain that city at night. Nobody did anything to crazy
and we all made it back good just everybody is super tired today. Carnaval is
this Thursday till Monday and Zach and I are also headed to Zurich Saturday
morning with a few that didn’t go to Amsterdam. We’re looking forward to a nice
relaxing weekend.
