On Wednesday we took a trip to the Bayer communications
building. This was cool because all we really knew about Bayer was Aspirin and
this place was set up to teach people about what else they actually do. The
tour was a walk through several interactive exhibits. The coolest part was when
we got to see the 3D rendering of a protein and virtually try to connect the
ligand to the binding sight using our arms. In that same exhibit we got to play
a game show game where children describe something and you try to guess what it
is, and my team won! I loved getting to see all the technology they use and
find out about the other fields they work on, such as materials and
environmental sustainability. And if their engineers get to use that 3D system
to work on research, that is definitely a place I would want to work!
