"Someday when your looking back on your life at the memory's, this is going to be one of those nights"
Well
spring breaks over unfortunately. Sitting here in Nice's airport
waiting for our flight back to Germany. It was a great week in Nice,
France. Even he flight here was good. We flew over the Alps and took a
few pictures from the plane window. We had great weather just about
everyday and made the most of it out on the beach. Nice has a great
pebble beach with beautiful blue water. One of the coolest things about
Nice is its old town. There is a big antique market on Mondays, lots of
places to eat, Finioccios, and my favorite Colline du Château. Château
is a mountain/cliff along the coast that overlooks the city and the
beach on one side and the harbor on the other. The view is amazing. There
is even a waterfall up top. Finioccios is the famous gelato place of
Nice. They have a crazy amount of flavors and their strawberry was
unbelievably good. I would suggest if you are ever in Nice to go to
both of those. We also walked out to the light house in the harbor which
was nice and Wayne's bar is a tourist hotspot. From Nice we took
trains and buses to the different surrounding city's. Our first venture
out of Nice was a 45 minute train ride to Cannes, France. I had never
heard of it before but its sandy beach overlooking the ocean of
different shades of blue was superb. One of the days we took a bus to
Antibes for the Musêe Picasso. Another day we headed to Saint Raphael
but with sub 50 degree temperatures you couldn't pay me to get in the
water. My favorite though might be Monaco. The Monte Carlo lived up to
its name and was even better than pictures of it show. I see why it's
so famous. Everything about it was super decorative and very well up
kept. We tried our luck at the black jack tables but it didn't pay off.
However, I did win a few bucks on slots while waiting for the tables to
open. How many people can say they have gambled at the Monte Carlo? We
traveled quite a bit but it was a great week relaxing on the beaches of
France. It felt like spring break sitting there doing nothing, drinking
a beer of two, and watching the sun shine on the beautiful blue coast.
