Only Miss the Sun when it Starts to Snow

The cheesiest and truest song.

And the non-Deutschland version is
What a beautiful day, and a start beautiful week. Simple sun was great.
Monday after our physiology test we played some Frisbee in the park and then headed out to the Stöckel Anesthesiology museum nearby the University Hospital here in Bonn.

It was a small little building of two display rooms, a bathroom, a coat room and Dr. Stöckel himself! A piece of living history, Dr. Stöckel himself walked us (a group of 23 angsty college students) around the rooms. Dr. Stöckel slowly and calmly talked about each display case, but every other display case or so, he would mention his colleague, his friend or somebody he met in the photos. He himself might as well been entombed within the museum, as he had been a part and so close to many of the devices, discoveries and advances in medicine shown within the display cases.

While Prof. Wasser from A&M Physiology talked about laryngoscopy, asked questions of Dr. Stöckel and translated Dr. Stöckel's German terms, our pharmacology teacher Prof. Fait told us the difference between Coca leaves and Cocaine.

And of course Prof. Meissner from A&M BMEN was just entranced by the old 20th century towering computers that monitored the patient's vital signs and the Anesthesia dosage among other things.
(AKA: the first concrete example that his Signals and Systems class actually DOES exist outside the test we had on Friday)

An old school Operating Room

After we had left the museum (and collectively, we broke the coat room, es tut mir leid!) we went to the park.
And played more Frisbee.
And then my watch broke, but I don't care. The clouds have gone away and it's beautiful outside. We played until the sun set (which still set early) and then we headed out for the night.

Today we went out to the park. Our tests are done and we had our last class of German (with a bittersweet goodbye), and the sun was out! Families with kids, dogs playing with each other, even restaurants participated with the weather and put out exterior seating in the sun. Bonn lit up even brighter than the sun today (and of course I forgot to bring my sunglasses).
We had a picnic. We played more Frisbee. And it was great.
